Perry is one step closer to naming their new police chief,
that’s according to City Manager Lee Gilmour.
The council met in executive session after Tuesday night’s
meeting to discuss the position.
Frank
Rotondo, of the Police Chief Association was at Tuesday nights meeting to
discuss the results of the testing conducted by the association last
month.
The
association was hired by the council to help conduct the search after George
Potter retired earlier this year.
Gilmour
said the next step is to interview the candidates before mayor and council. He
said there were eight whom tested and said that his understanding is that those
eight would be interviewed.
Gilmour
said that the position should be made by the end of the year.
