A Macon man died as a result of an accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Davis Drive and Hwy. 247 Saturday.
According to a release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, around 6 p.m., Delmar Michael Singleton, 62, was stopped at a red light in the northbound lane on Hwy 247, when a 2005 Chevrolet Astro Van, being driven by James Leroy Edwards, 80, of Juliette collided with the back of Singleton’s 2012 Triumph motorcycle.
The release states Singleton was thrown from the motorcycle as the van pushed the motorcycle for approximately 363 feet down Hwy. 247.
Singleton was taken to the Houston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Edwards was also taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
According to the release, the case is under investigation and charges are pending against Edwards.
