Annexation was the hot topic at the Warner Robins City Council meeting held on Monday.
The council voted to annex several properties into the city against the will of the residents.
This was the second time many of the residents have battled the annexation issue.
Councilman Paul Shealy was in favor of the annexation, he argued that the residents have city sewer, water or gas and should be annexed.
Councilman Mike Davis disagreed. He said even thought the council has the right to annex them because they have services, it doesn’t mean they should.
Councilwoman Carolyn Robbins voted in favor of the annexation on the grounds that the residents have city services.
“It’s my obligation to the City of Warner Robins to vote in the best interest,” she said.
The list of properties was changed a bit before the end of the vote, the council voted to annex 16 of the 21 properties in question.
